Sculpting

Umarell

“A tribute to retired men who spent their working lives providing for others, only to find themselves standing around watching construction sites in retirement. No statues are ever erected in their honor, while many monuments to the so-called greats are now being torn down. This is for the working-class heroes.”

Umarell, marble 34 × 17,5 × 9 cm
Dark wooden pedestal. 12 × 13 × 22 cm

A good friend with whom I almost never agree.

Between Stone and Clay

Recently, I started working with pottery. Over the coming years, I plan to deepen my knowledge through courses, experimentation, and investing in my own equipment and workspace.

I do not see ceramics as a departure from my existing work, but rather as a new extension of it , another material through which I can develop and express my own visual language. What particularly attracts me to pottery is the possibility of creating objects that are not only meant to be looked at, but also to be used in everyday life. Functional pieces, shaped within my own aesthetic, somewhere between sculpture, design, and utility.

This is still a new direction for me, but one I intend to explore seriously and gradually make entirely my own. With my own twist. More to come.
